> This little study was my first attempt with using epoxy resin as a separator between different layers in a painting. Whenever I see paintings by others I often wonder what hidden layers might be found below. X-rays of renaissance paintings often reveal completely different works that were overpainted. I feel there is something sensual and mysterious about these hidden layers and fantasise about being able to peak through the layers. Obliterating most of the painting also draws the eye to the few details that are still visible, inviting the viewer to look at the mark close up which is something I enjoy a lot.
